Situated in the historic centre of Nevers, the Palais Ducal, built in the second half of the fifteenth century and the jewel in the crown of the area’s heritage, this listed Historic Monument is the former residence of the of the Dukes of Nevers and the Gonzague family. Open to the public and to visitors, it boasts among other features, a wedding hall, reception halls, the municipal council hall, a gallery, a surprising aquarium housing fish from the Loire, and the Nevers Region Tourist Office. It is both prestigious and functional, able to serve as the setting for working meetings, seminars and conferences. A “City of Art and History”, this ducal city owes much to its palace which today is the first port of call for anyone wanting to know more about Nevers and its rich offerings for tourism, heritage and culture past and present.
